Oil City Confidential is Julien Temple's last film in his trilogy on British music of the 1970's. It is a prequel to his landmark films about punk figureheads the Sex Pistols in The Filth & The Fury, Joe Strummer's in The Future Is Unwritten and focuses on Canvey Island band Dr Feelgood.

The story of Dr Feelgood, four men in cheap suits who crashed out of Canvey Island in the early '70s, sandpapered the face of rock'n'roll, leaving all that came before a burnt-out ruin - four estuarine John-the-Baptist to Johnny Rotten's anti-Christ. Taking London by storm, they sped through Europe and conquered the UK with No 1 chart success, before imploding just as punk was born and America beckoned with open arms. Contributions from members of The Clash, Blondie and The Sex Pistols join Dr Feelgood with collaborators Jools Holland and Alison Moyet to tell the story of Canvey, '70s England and the greatest local band in the world.

EPISODE 1: ARRIVAL

Theodore Cormey’s unbelievably ambitious, 2 years-in-the-making music video for Boston-based art-rock duo Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling's "EPISODE 1: ARRIVAL" is a shot-for-shot remake of the opening sequence of the '60s cult spy-fi TV show The Prisoner. As an added clever touch given Patrick McGoohan’s replacement by the band’s female frontwoman, the band’s name itself is derived from the 13^th episode of the series, wherein Number 6’s mind is transplanted into the body of another person.

Oil City Confidential est le troisième film dans la trilogie de Julien  Temple sur la musique britannique des années 70. Il s’agit d’une « préquelle » à son film essentiel sur les leaders du punk, les Sex Pistols dans The Filth & The Fury, Joe Strummer dans The Future is Unwritten et se concentre sur le band de Canvey Island Dr Feelgood.

L’histoire de Dr Feelgood, 4 hommes en complets bon marché qui débarquèrent de Canvey Island au début des années 70, arrachèrent le visage du rock ‘n’ roll, laissant tout ce qui est venu auparavant face à des ruines fûmantes – 4 figures estuariennes, mélange entre Jean-le-Baptiste et l’antéchrist de Johnny Rotten. Prenant Londres d’assaut, ils conquirent l’Europe et le Royaume Uni avec des hits no. 1, avant d’imploser au moment ou le punk naissant et l’Amérique l’accueillait à bras ouverts. Contribuant au documentaire, on retrouve des membres de The Clash, Blondie, les Sex Pistols, ainsi que Dr Feelgood, collaborateurs Jools Holland et Alisson Moyet, tous racontant l’histoire de Canvey, l’Angleterre des années 70 et le plus grand band local au monde.

Le vidéoclip incroyablement ambitieux de Theodore Cormey pour le duo d’art-rock basé à Boston, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling et leur « Episode 1 : Arrival », qui a pris 2 ans à réaliser, est un remake plan par plan de l’ouverture de l’émission culte des années 60 The Prisonner. Une touche additionnelle de brillo : vu le remplacement de Patrick McGoohan par une chanteuse, le nom du band dérive du 13^e épisode de la série, qui trouve l’esprit de Number 6 transplanté dans le corps d’une autre personne.
