Italian genre legend Alberto de Martino (The Antichrist) directs this violent, Montreal-shot actioner, blending the euro-crime and giallo genres with a chaser of Canuxploitation. A misanthropic Ottawa police captain (Stuart Whitman) searches for the person who poisoned his sister in Montreal. Desperate for vengeance, he casts protocol to the wind and takes to brutal methods to find the killer, only to discover that his "innocent" kid sister was involved in theft and hanging with the creeps and weirdos! Blazing Magnum features Martin Landau, John Saxon, Tisa Farrow, Armando Trovaioli's funky score, subway brawls, midget informants, blackmail schemes, helicopter escapes, and one of the greatest car chases of all time. Lasting nearly eight minutes, this winding chase through Montreal rivals Bullitt and The French Connection for stunt work and sheer thrills, and was coordinated and choreographed by Remy Julienne, who also worked on The Italian Job (1969) and For Your Eyes Only (1981).

La légende du cinéma de genre Alberto de Martino (The Antichrist) réalise ce polar violent tourné à Montréal, mélangeant ainsi les styles euro-crime et giallo avec la bonne vieille Canuxploitation. Un policier misanthrope d’Ottawa (Stuart Whitman) est à la recherche de la personne qui a empoisonné sa sœur à Montréal. Assoiffé de vengeance, il fait fi des protocoles policiers et s’adonne des manières brutales de retrouver le tueur, découvrant ainsi que son ‘innocente’ petite sœur était impliquée dans des vols et se tenait avec de sales types. Blazing Magnum contient Martin Landau, John Saxon, Tisa Farrow, des bagarres dans le métro, des nains délateurs, du chantage, des échappées en hélicoptère et l’une des meilleures poursuites de voiture de tous les temps. Durant presque huit minutes, cette poursuite à travers les rues de Montréal accote Bullit et The French Connection au niveau des cascades et de l’adrénaline pure et fut chorégraphiée par Remy Julienne, qui a aussi travaillé sur The Italian Job (1969) et For Your Eyes Only (1981).
